ITV Coronation Street star Millie Gibson sips champagne with soap 'mum and dad' amid exit rumours

Coronation Street star Millie Gibson was all smiles as she grasped onto an ice bucket with a bottle of champagne firmly tucked inside during a night out with her co-stars who she sweetly dubbed her 'mum and dad'.

The actress, who plays Kelly Neelan in the ITV soap, took to Instagram earlier in the day to show herself in the Corrie dressing room amid rumours she has quit the soap. Millie is reported to be leaving the cobbles months after picking up her first major award. And the 18-year-old is rumoured to be bowing out of the soap in an "explosive" storyline later this year.

In the meantime, she's still heading to the Salford-based set to film and shared a snap from inside her dressing room. It showed a brew and a Love Island bottle with 'Gibbo' written in pink just like the dating show's islanders. "No place like home," she penned with the time stamp 9.47am.

A few hours later she returned to her Instagram Story to share a snap of co-star Mikey North after they had just popped out to get an ice cream. Corrie has previously brought in an ice cream van to keep its stars and crew cool during the sweltering temperatures being felt across much of the country.

"Take your dad to work day," Millie penned as the snap showed Mikey, who plays her guardian Gary Windass in the soap, with a 99 with a flake in hand as he gave a look to the camera through his tortoiseshell shades. Millie had also picked up a cone of Mr Whippy ice cream which she too topped with a flake and some added strawberry sauce.

But once the working day was done, Millie, from Broadbottom, grabbed Samia Longchambon and the pair headed for some after work drinks. Posing in the beaming sun, the teen soap star said: "Taking the mum out for a drink @samia_longchambon." The pair were glowing as they posed for the selfie holding onto their sunglasses above their heads

They then donned their shades and pouted for the camera before heading off to a Media City bar, just a stones throw from the Corrie set. The pair grinned for a selfie as they were joined by Mikey. Millie was seen holding onto the aforementioned ice bucket which had a bottle of Moet firmly inside.

Samia, who plays Maria Windass in the ITV soap, also took to her Instagram to share a similar snap, tagging Millie adding the hashtag 'family night out' with a yellow heart and clinking glasses enjoy. But it wasn't just the trio as they were later joined by some other guests, including co-stats Chris Gascoyne and Daniel Brocklebank, who play Peter Barlow and Billy Mayhew in the ITV soap.

Rumours of Millie's exit from Corrie came after ITV teased what is to come on the famous street as it revealed what is to come on the network over the autumn. Corrie has teased that family matters will dominate the coming months with returning relatives, couples in crisis and shocking secrets causing chaos on the cobbles.

The clock has been ticking for Gary Windass ever since he took in the teenage daughter of the man he murdered. Increasingly seeing Gary as a father figure, Kelly Neelan was left further indebted to Gary when he rescued her from the clutches of dad Rick’s shady associates in scenes aired in July.

But having witnessed how far Gary is willing to go to keep her safe, Kelly starts to wonder if he has crossed that line before. Meanwhile, Gary’s wife Maria continues to struggle with the unwanted online attention her council work has brought and Gary is determined to protect her. But Is Gary’s past about to catch up with him?
