The Pudsey-born actor, who has played former bad boy David since 2000, thought it was hilarious when a cashier in Sainsbury's claimed she recognised him from television but not for his Corrie role. Instead she was adamant that he was a contestant on the ITV game show Tipping Point.
"Just in Sainos then," he said in a video shared on Instagram. "Woman on the till says 'where do I know you from?' I went 'oh it's Coronation Street. "She went no. No you were on something last night.' She went 'Tipping Point, that's it'"'
