There was a shock in Coronation Street as Stephen Reid's desperation for money led to him becoming a murderer. Last week viewers of the ITV soap saw Leo Thompkins start to suspect something wasn't quite right with the Canadian businessman.
He began questioning Stephen's actions when he caught him heading back to Number 8 Coronation Street despite advising them to stay away until he got some experts in to check the sinkhole in the Platt's garden after a panicky David feared it was opening up again. And fans didn't want a repeat of last year's Halloween horror.
Unbeknownst to Stephen, Leo watched him in the distance as he undressed and settled into his car for the night after lying about being able to get a hotel while David and his family stayed at Audrey's house. The next day in the pub, Audrey also became suspicious after learning Stephen slept in his car.
