ITV Coronation Street's Summer Spellman uncovers boyfriend's devastating secret

Coronation Street spoilers reveal Summer Spellman is about to discover her boyfriend's secret.

The character, played by Harriet Bibby, has recently got involved in a relationship with Aaron Sandford. However, viewers following the show have been suspicious of the new love interest's true motives since he first debuted on the Cobbles.

Summer will dig deeper to find out what Aaron is hiding when she turns up at the garage next week to find he is nursing a fat lip. Her boyfriends snaps at her when she probes to uncover what really happened.

Aaron will later apologise before he confesses the heart-breaking truth that his dad caused the injuries. He explains his dad is an alcoholic who can occasionally lash out.

Summer agrees to to keep Aaron's secret and the couple aim to move past the incident with a relaxing holiday. However, Summer is rocked again when she receives her A Level results.

Summer harboured dreams of going to Oxford University, however she receives an X in her English exam after she was disqualified. The character will collapse before she goes on holiday and will admit she forgot to take her insulin once she regains her consciousness.

The two miss their flight and head back to the flat, but Aaron is shocked with what he finds when he rummages through Summer's bag.

Coronation Street airs at 8pm on Monday, Wednesday and Friday's on ITV and ITV Hub
