Coronation Street star Jude Riordan has shared his joy as he returned to filming this week. The young actor is best known to viewers for playing Sam Blakeman in the ITV soap.
Taking to Instagram on Thursday (June 9), the 11-year-old shared a snap of himself back in his dressing room at the Salford-based set. He took a cheeky selfie in the mirror which is adorned with lights with a pair of glasses seen on the dressing table with a sticky note which reads 'SAM'S' on it.
Giving a little grin while wearing a blue hoodie, Jude told his thousands of followers: "It's been a minute Sam." And he was soon being flooded with comments from fans sharing their delight at him returning to filming on the cobbles.

@russ_henton wrote: "You're back to rescue Corry, looking forward to seeing you. YES! SAMS BACK! Thank goodness." @laurieinqueens shared: "Really been missing you, little dude!!" @julesann1970 then asked: "Where you been Jude ? Lol , I've missed seeing you in Corrie little man," to which the Corrie star joked he has been at 'chess camp'.
He also shared a video of himself getting into character with a change of clothes and return of his glasses. "Good to get Sam back," he said. His former on-screen mum Rachel Leskovac was quick to comment, writing: "There. He. Is." with a crown and heart emoji.
Jude has been super busy in his time away from Corrie. Back in early May, the youngster was among the thousands of students taking on Sats (Standard Assessment Tests) at school. At the time, Jude was flooded with good luck messages as well as praise as he shared 'wonderful' words about the exams not defining him and his fellow pupils.
Alongside a poem, Jude wrote: "We have got this Year 6. We are almost there. SATS week is here. 2 crazy years of school or NO school or little school. WE ARE MORE THAN A TEST." He has since been enjoying his 11th birthday and a bit of a break before getting stuck back in to Sam's world.
During that time though he also thrilled fans with a teaser of another show he is involved in. The young actor won the hearts of diehard Corrie fan when he made his Weatherfield debut in 2020 after he discovered that Nick Tilsley was his father.
But other TV fans may know Jude for appearing in Sky's Brassic as Michelle Keegan's on-screen son Tyler Croft. And Jude had good news to share with fans of the comedy series last month as series four is on its way. Sharing the brand new trailer to his Instagram page, which is run by his parents, Jude wrote: "Reposted from @brassicfans_ BRASSIC 4 IS ON THE WAY this Autumn. Sneek peak.So proud to be part of this, fun 4 years with the gang @skytv @nowtv."
