Corrie star Rebecca Ryan says she's 'not well liked' as she reveals how she relaxes between intense Lydia scenes
Rebecca Ryan has made quite the impact on the cobbles despite her character only making her debut back in December.
The actress, best known for playing Debbie in hit Channel 4 series Shameless, joined the cast of the ITV soap last year as Lydia Chambers.
After losing her PA job when she turned up drink for a meeting, she ended up being employed by Carla Connor at Underworld after also becoming pally with Sarah Barlow.

But that was until she found out her husband was Adam Barlow and unbeknown to anyone else, Lydia is hellbent on revenge and has set Adam Barlow up to make it look like they've been having an affair.
Corrie fans have watched in recent weeks as Lydia stepped up her plan to frame Adam for being unfaithful, resulting in him being kicked out of his luxury flat by a heartbroken Sarah.
Among other things, Lydia planted a secret phone in Adam's drawer in his home and had been sending message to it from her own phone from outside their flat with their WiFi meaning a trace of the IP address would make Adam appear guilty.
Then, last week fans saw Adam pay Lydia, who already told him she planned to 'dismantle his life', a visit in a bid to convince her to tell the truth. But instead, the solicitor ended up in further trouble when Lydia finally let him into her home to find it had been trashed with his tormentor acting frightened with her phone clutched in her hand.
And as Adam went to call the police himself, he turned to see an officer making his way through the door as Lydia once again pretended to be distressed by Adam's behaviour.
Corrie viewers have already expressed their irritation at Lydia's devious plan - and it appears Rebecca knows all about it.
Asked about the reaction to playing a villain, Rebecca told OK! Magazine : "I’m not very well liked at the minute, let’s just say that. I get a lot of hate for the character with people saying how much they dislike her and that she’s awful and ruining Sarah’s life.
"But it’s all part of the fun. It’s great that people are so invested in the storyline and getting so into it, and I’ve had lovely messages from people saying they’re enjoying it."
Last week, Rebecca's co-star and younger brother Jack James Ryan, who plays the soap's Jacob Hay, backed his sister during a fan Q&A.
"Side note: I'm so proud of her, she'd been killing it on Corrie" Jack, 25, gushed. "I know first hand how hard it is for the fans to get behind the villains but she deserves all the love!!
"If you hate Ludia then you know @rebeccaryan__ is doing an incredible job. She couldn't be any less like her character in real life, she is a literally angel lol."
Rebecca was also full of praise for Tina O'Brien, who plays Sarah, when quizzed about who she is closest to on the Corrie set, saying they get on 'so well'.
"She’s just such an amazing person and I’m so lucky to have had most of my scenes with her. She instantly made me feel comfortable and at home straight away," the Lydia star, who previously worked on Waterloo Road like Tina, told the publication. "I was buzzing to be working with Tina."
Anf with plenty of intense scenes for her character, Rebecca has found a way of relaxing between filming.
"Every little break I get, I put on my phone and watch a bit of Dawson’s Creek in the background as I’m getting ready. It always chills me out for the next scene," she revealed to OK!
