Coronation Street star Mollie Gallagher will soon be swapping the cobbles for the ice rink as she takes part in Dancing On Ice. It was revealed earlier last month that the actress would compete in the ITV show's 23 series, hosted by Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield, ahead of its return in the new year.
She joins Olympic bronze medal-winning gymnast Nile Wilson, Love Island winner Ekin-Su Culculoglu, football star John Fashanu and former EastEnders actress and DJ Patsy Palmer in the line-up. Lorraine Kelly announced Mollie's participation in the popular show.
Mollie debuted her freshly dyed locks on the programme as she chatted to Lorraine Kelly on her self-titled ITV show about being the latest Corrie star to swap the cobbles for the ice rink, following in the footsteps of 2021 contestant Sally Dynevor, as well as Antony Cotton, Brooke Vincent, Jane Danson and Samia Longchambon.

And also last month, the 24-year-old, who plays Nina Lucas in the ITV soap, was unrecognisable from her TV role as she showcased her moves in black leggings and a slouchy purple sweatshirt as she got stuck into training for the skating competition. Mollie wore her new ice blonde hairdo tied back from her face after transforming her raven-coloured locks.
She already looked like a pro already as she glided around the rink after just a week of training. She wrote proudly alongside the clip: "First full week of ice skating training complete." She continued: "Tryin' to be stronger for you. Ice cream, ice queen. And it's fine to fake it til you make it. Til you do. Till it's true."
And after weeks of not having a skating partner, Mollie has finally found out who'll she be competing with in the New Year, and it just so happens to be her Corrie co-star's husband. Posting a picture alongside Sylvain Longchambon, who is married to Maria Windass actress Samia, on Instagram, Mollie wrote: "'Next up skating is… Mollie & Sylvain.'"
The pair could be seen posing on the famous cobbles outside the iconic Rovers Return. The soap star added: "@dancingonice let’s goooo." Mollie's former co-star Millie Gibson, who recently exited the ITV soap as Kelly Neelan, was quick to respond. SHe wrote: "Ahhh!! I can’t wait."
Sylvain also posted the same snap to his own Instagram page and shared his joy at discovering who his partner was. He penned: "Meet my dancing on ice partner @mollie.gallagher_, I hope she’s ready for a great series!! Keeping it in the Coronation Street family!"
It was revealed at the end of last month that Sylvain will be returning to Dancing On Ice in the new year, three years after last skating on the ITV show. It was also revealed that Vicky Ogden and Klabera Komini, who both last skated in the 2021 series, will be making a comeback.
Dancing on Ice is where Samia found love with professional ice skater Sylvain. The pair were partnered up during the 2013 series. The couple got engaged after three years and two months later, Samia revealed she was pregnant.
Samia gave birth to their first child together, son Yves, in 2015 and the couple married in 2016 at Delamere Manor in Cuddington, Cheshire. And Samia and Sylvian are more loved-up than ever with the Corrie actress regularly sharing selfies with her French husband as well as family snaps with daughter Freya, from her previous marriage to Matt Smith, and Yves.
