Coronation Street star Kel Allen has shared the difficulty she had getting through a recently aired scene.
The actress has recently returned to the soap as Laura Neelan, the mother of Kelly and estranged wife of loan shark Rick who was killed by Gary Windass.
During her arrival back on the cobbles last month, Laura dropped a bombshell on Kelly when she revealed to her only daughter that she was dying from cancer.
After initially not believing what her mum told her due to her track record, Kelly had a change of heart and has been running herself ragged trying to secretly look after her mum while juggling shifts at the barbers, Trim Up North, and school.
But Gary and his wife Maria discovered the truth and offered to help Kelly with her mum. However, the teen was seen in Wednesday night's Corrie telling Maria she was going to quit her job as it was interfering with her taking care of Laura.
Not willing to let her give up on her future, Maria and Gary decided to let Laura move in with them in their flat, leaving Kelly delighted.
However, there were nerves for Gary and Maria after Laura revealed that she wants to hire a private investigator in order to find Rick, who viewers - and Maria - know was killed by Gary back in 2019. Trying to steer her clear of finding that news out, Gary said he had someone who could help and was the guy who helped him track Laura down previously.
As Gary introduced the pair, Laura quickly cottoned on that she knew him already. "Hang on, I've seen your face before," she said as Lenny introduced himself as 'Kenny' and denied ever seeing her before.
"I chased you in my back garden," Laura hit back. "In fact, you were the creep taking photos of me and don't deny it because I'd remember that face from anywhere."
He tried to convince Laura that he had a twin brother, named Lenny, but Laura wasn't buying any of it. "Get off it," she said. "Who hired you to spy on me back then?" with Gary and Lenny quickly saying it must have been Rick.
"What's his name then? Benny?" Laura replied as Gary said he has someone else they could try.
Taking to Instagram after the scenes aired, Kel revealed that the finished product was a lot different to how it was sometimes filmed.
"Hi Benny! I mean Lenny/ Kenny," the soap star laughed: "Oh how we howled filming that scene! We all struggled to keep a straight face."
Kel was quickly applauded for the scenes with many commenting that it was 'hilarious'.
She then went on to share some behind-the-scene pics alongside on-screen daughter Millie Gibson, who plays Kelly, as the filmed from Laura's studio flat.
The pair were beaming as they posed on the sofa in their big ITV puffa jackets with Kel commenting; "Pack your bags kid, we’re moving out! Off to Gary & Maria’s flat it is then!"
Millie was quick to comment on the post, which also featured a picture of the pair frowning on the same sofa, writing: "Keeping up with the Neelans," while Samia Longhambon, who plays Maria, said: "Mi casa su casa."
It comes after fans praised the casting of the mother and daughter Corrie duo with some claiming the pair looked alike in a selfie taken on the famous cobbles.
The photo showed the pair posing on the fictional street in their big red Corrie coats and attracted comments about their likeness to one another.
