Coronation Street star Jude Riordan was all smiles as he celebrated another year on the ITV soap with a night out in Manchester. The young actor, who is known to fans for playing Sam Blakeman, hit the red carpet alongside his dad, Paul, ahead of watching the pantomime at Manchester's Opera House.
He was among the Corrie stars heading to watch Peter Pan, which this year stars comedian Jason Manford and Britain's Got Talent star Ben Nickless. Jude was snapped as he headed into the venue wearing a red hoodie under a green coat which he paired with jeans and trainers.
He posed alongside his dad who is also pretty famous in the TV world. Earlier this year fans were surprised to discover that the soap star's dad was known for his work behind-the-scenes on many much-loved shows. Paul has forged a successful career in showbusiness as a television director.
He broke through in a behind-the-scenes role in Hollyoaks before he went on to earn directing credits for popular soaps such as Emmerdale and Casualty. And last month, Paul was working on some scenes for Corrie which involved his son and his Jude's on-screen family.
Sharing a photo of himself throwing his arms around his dad while dressed in Sam's school unifrm in Nick and Leanne Battersby's flat on the soap's set, Jude said: "When you haven't been well but can't miss your first Corrie scene directed by yer Dad @paulrio27."
He also shared a photo of himself and Paul in action alongside Ben Price, who plays Nick, and Jane Danson, who portrayed Leanne. And a third image showed the father and son sitting alongside his soap mum and dad. Jude also cheekily added in a hashtag: "Ben always has his eyes closed."
As fans rushed to the post to send him he get well messages, others couldn't help but think Paul looked like Ben and thought they were seeing double.
Earlier this week, took to Instagram with an update on his career ahead of the festive season. Jude posted a snap to his thousands of followers on his account, which is safely run by his mum, from the cobbles. Appearing in Sam's school uniform, the soap star kept warm in one of ITV's oversized blue puffa coats.
"And that is a WRAP on Sam Blakeman for 2022," Jude, who also stars in Sky Comedy Brassic opposite former Corrie star Michelle Keegan, typed alongside the Instagram post. "What another great year on the cobbles. See you in January 2023 for more shenanigans."
And fans were quick to comment. @alisonjanesymons wrote: "Aw have a lovely Christmas Jude you are fabulous in Corrie look forward to seeing you on screen 2023." @susimcfarland wrote: "Have a lovely Christmas you wonderful actor." @bee.ferguson posted: "Happy Christmas Jude, looking forward to your next Corrie shenanigans."
