ITV Coronation Street's Jennie McAlpine 'to disappear' as she discusses future on Loose Women

Coronation Street's Jennie McAlpine made an admission as she prepares for her show exit.

The 38-year-old soap star is renowned for her role as Fiz Brown on the ITV programme. She has recently been central to a major plot in the show as she finally tied the knot with her long-time lover, Tyrone Dobbs.

It has been an equally busy time for Jennie away from the Cobbles as she announced she is expecting her third child. Jennie appeared on today's episode of Loose Women and confirmed she will soon need "to disappear" from the show on a temporary basis on maternity leave.

Jennie lifted the lid on the manner of her show exit after she was quizzed by Carol McGiffin. She said: "It's got to be a moveable feast. Hopefully the baby behaves and it all happens at the right time. There's a plan"

Jennie also shared some behind the scenes secrets how they are disguising her baby bump while filming. She said: "Last time, I’m not joking, with baby number two we hid the bump behind a Ford Fiesta.

"The director said, ‘I think it would be nice if we had that car a little further into the shot’. Even the writers have put in a lot more ‘Fiz brings the washing in’ – there's a lot more of that at the start of the script.

"I feel like she does a lot of washing anyway, but she’s going to be doing a lot more."
