Coronation Street star Jack P Shepherd has pulled at heartstrings not once but twice as he posed with his actual dog and his new on-screen companion. The actor, who is famed for playing David Platt in the ITV soap, enjoyed a wholesome Sunday out on a walk with his girlfriend Hanni Treweek and their pooch, Baby.
The little chihuahua was later soon cuddling up to Jack but after getting excited at Hanni sitting close by, dropped through his arms while sitting with Jack on a bench and planted into the grass. "You ok now, Baby?" Jack said as he filmed the sweet five-year-old dog "You had a little tumble didn't you. You fell on grass though so it's ok. Notnhing broken."
He has previously posed for an adorable snap showing him with their four-legged companion. "My silver spring #Baby," he captioned the post which was soon being flooded with messages branding the image 'precious' and 'cute'. However, he couldn't help be reshare the video of poor Baby's fall.
Alongside a string of crying laughing emojis, Jack posted the video which only further exaggerated Hanni's panic when the pup slipped below the bench they were sitting on. @teresamichele2324 commented: "Bless her," alongside a shocked fans emoji. @jennifer.smith.3994 said: "Aww nooo." @bexmassey replied: "Awwwww ha ha bless her." @julie43e added: "Aww stop laughing."
But Baby isn't the only dog in Jack's life as not only do he and Hanni share other pet dog's, the 35-year-old has also been busy working with his new furry co-star. Back in November, Jack introduced a new member of the Platt family to fans. He took to Instagram to share a video of himself at his character's family home on the famous cobbles and could be seen holding a gorgeous terrier pup who appears to be the new 'David the Dog' on the street.
Corrie fans will remember that the dog was formerly the pet of Mrs Moss, an old lady who was a regular at David's grandmother, Audrey's, hair salon and the dog was left to David following Mrs Moss' death. Sharing the introductory video, Jack wrote: "First day at work. He was nervous but what a star in the making."
He then added with crying laughing face emojis: "Thrilled he got the job, well done David." Those watching were quick to worry and wonder about what happened to the previous dog, before it was revealed it had sadly died.
Jack has now shared a look at the new David in action. Posting a video on his Instagram Story, the actor could be seen holding the dog as he explained: "We are filming today... My co-star, David. Double trouble," before laughing. He then put the dog down and said he is "very excited" but that he's "well trained and knows all the tricks."
He then wanted to show off some of those skills and as the dog jumped up him, Jack told him to get down and to get on his mark, Without hesitation, the pooch got into position on the cobbles, stood still on his lead facing in the same direction as Jack who was looking down past Dev's shop and towards the Rovers. "We're ready," Jack declared with a laugh.
It comes after Jack, when speaking exclusively to the Manchester Evening News when Coronation Street unveiled its Weatherfield Precinct for the first time back in December, appeared slightly confused by the new addition himself. "Is it a different breed?" he asked before he was told no, it's exactly the same breed but just been groomed in the style of a Schnauzer.
"Ah because everyone's been going, 'new dog, different breed'," Jack added before being asked about how the new cast member is settling in. "He's only done that one day so far, ease him in gently, but he's very good." And Jack jokingly didn't hold back when it came to the previous furry friend who played his doggy namesake.
"The other dog hated me! He bit me all the time, whenever I'd go near him." He added; "This one is friendly. Nervous, shaking a little but that's fine. He's very cute."
Jack's latest post also comes after he denied having his teeth done. It appears the David Platt star had found a picture of himself with his on-screen family - wife Shona Platt, played by Julia Goulding, and on-screen son Max Turner, played by Paddy Bever.
Taking a picture of the developed snap, Jack joked: "No I haven't got new teeth and that isn't tan in a can," alongside crying liaghing emoji as the snap had made him look particularly sun-kissed and his teeth even whiter as he beamed alongside his two-co-stars.
