ITV Coronation Street's Adam Hussain shares sweet message to Millie Gibson as she gets special exit screening

Coronation Street star Adam Hussain has shared a sweet message to his former co-star Millie Gibson after she recently filmed her last scenes. The actress, who plays Kelly Neelan, has bowed out of the ITV soap after three years with her dramatic exit set to aire during a special 'Super Soap Week' this month.

Adam, who plays Corrie's Aadi Alahan, will have a role to play in her final storyline after the pair recently became engaged. The teens discovered their true feelings for one another when they decided to fake being a soon-to-be-married couple in order to enter a Win A Dream Wedding competition that could have seen them jet off abroad.

They have since faced opposition from their families and after their plans to elope to Gretna Green were discovered, Aadi and Kelly decided to wait until they are 18 to wed. However, in upcoming scenes viewers will see Kelly book her and Aadi one-way tickets to Bangkok after hiring a hitman to murder her guardian Gary Windass after discovering he was the one who killed her dad, Rick

But their engagement party is set to turn to horror as Kelly's plan to get Gary killed after she discovered he was responsible for her dad Rick's death three years ago goes terribly wrong and both Gary and Kelly end up in danger and their lives hanging in the balance over the Manchester skyline.

Adam was able to tease the big scenes ahead as Corrie brings forward its Super Soap Week forward to September. The soap has gone all out for the scenes, heading out to RecodeXR Studio in Trafford Park to film with special equipment used for mega movies like Avengers and Disney+ series The Mandalorian. And Iain believes they are the first soap opera to use the incredible technology.

Hinting he may be involved in a stunt of his own as he shared what it was like to film the scenes, Adam told the Manchester Evening News and other press: "I think it's brilliant. Just working on such an amazing script and story, to be able to do stunts because of the cameras and a big green screen and the volume walls that they use in Hollywood films, and to be able to work with those devices and having the crew work phenomenally.

"Everyone who worked on that was absolutely amazing. I think it was one of the best shoots I have ever done. In the end it all looks really amazing. I can't wait to see it once it's on TV."

When asked about working with Millie and what he'll miss, the soap star said: "I love working with Millie because she is such a really phenomenal actress. She’s very good, and she’s just a very nice person, so I’m going to miss her as a friend and also as a work partner. But I wish her all the best."

Adam was among the faces who attended Millie's star-studded leaving party, as she and her co-stars packed out a bar on Salford Quays. Soap favourites were pictured as they headed to The Alchemist on the waterside under sunny skies last month in a series of glam ensembles.

Millie, 18, from Broadbottom, donned a sophisticated long black dress and sandals as she headed to her leaving do with a host of her soap pals. That included Tanisha Gorey who plays Asha Alahan, Georgia Taylor who plays Toyah Habeeb and Colson Smith who plays PC Craig Tinker. Kelly's "father figure" of Gary, aka actor Mikey North, was also spotted heading to the leaving do.

And last week, the departing Corrie star was able to enjoy a screening of her exit scenes. She was joined by co-star and Corrie bestie Tanisha Gorey, who plays Asha Alahan in the ITV soap, as well as Pat Lally, who is starring in the soap as bad boy Kieron who Kelly niavely trusts with her plans to bump off Gary despite him kidnapping her not so long ago.

Millie watched her final scenes in the Bistro (Millie Gibson Instagram)

Millie was gifted T-shirts that had been printed with the promo image of her, Mikey, and Adam. 'SSW 2022' had been printed above the photo and it clearly got Millie in the feels as she posted it to her Instagram Stories and said: "Amazing," alongside a crying face emoji.

She enjoyed the special screening inside the Bistro and later shared how she was 'overwhelmed' by the experience. "Very overwhelmed at the moment but I'm so excited for you all to see the next upcoming eps for @coronation street 'Super soap week,'" she typed.

"The cast, crew and our amazing director - Dave Beauchamp has done an INSANE job. I am so honoured and can't say thank you enough. Forever love and forever grateful."
