Coronation Street's Jack P Shepherd's mum was in tears as her son met his "double".
The soap star is renowned for his portrayal of David Platt in the long-running ITV show. His legendary status was confirmed yesterday as he was forever immortalised with a waxwork figure at Madame Tussauds in Blackpool.
The iconic tourist attraction boasts a replica of the soap's Rovers Return, which features wax replicas of figures such as Ken Barlow. The David Platt actor said he was "honoured" to join such esteemed company as he saw the completed version of his wax figure for the first time.

The 34-year-old told the ECHO: "I'm feeling a lot of emotions, pleased and freaked out. Everybody in the world knows Madame Tussauds and to be in there is just mad."
The wax figure is dressed in an original David Platt costume worn on the show and Jack was "blown away" by how accurate the sculptor captured his appearance. He joked: "My mum said they've got your lazy eye down to a tee. It's the eyes, I don't like looking at the eyes so much because they're so real.
"It's like you are looking back at yourself. It's weird." Jack has kept the project under wraps for over a year and was thrilled to reveal he shared similarities with two showbiz icons.
"When I went down and they were matching hair and eyes. They said, you've got the same hair as Leonardo Di Caprio, which you'll take that. And you've also got the same eyes as Justin Bieber."
Jack's girlfriend, Hanni Treweek, swooned with pride after the waxwork was unveiled. She said: "I love Hailey Bieber's fashion and I can't say anything bad about Leonardo DiCaprio's hair.
"It was amazing. I'd seen the rough stages and the photos but the waxwork was so realistic. It's incredible and I'm so proud of Jack."
Jack's mum, Janet, was also at the unveiling and she burst into tears as she was "overwhelmed" to see the figure for the first time. She told the ECHO: "It's just astonishing because I'm looking over there at Jack and Vera Duckworth - and thinking Jack is now part of these legends.
"You can underline proud six or seven times, I thought I was going to faint." Jack first joined the cast of Corrie in 2000 when he was just 12 years old - and Janet said the family could never have imagined the character would be so iconic.
She said: "We never thought in our wildest dreams that 22 years later he would be in Madame Tussauds. It's just something you don't dream about because it doesn't happen, but it has and it is magical."
Kyle Woodcock is attractions manager at Madame Tussauds and he explained why David Platt's waxwork was selected to be the next addition to the Corrie exhibition. He said: "We always want to stay as current as we can and we're appealing to the next generation.
"David's character in Coronation Street is just massive and is so relatable to the generation now. There was no other choice when we looked at Coronation Street and we just had to have David with us."
