ITV Coronation Street fans furious over Aadi and Summer storyline after spotting blunder

Coronation Street fans haven't been left impressed over the latest twist in Summer Spellman's exam storyline. The character, played by Harriet Bibby in the ITV soap, hasn't had the easiest of time since being diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. The teen has struggled to adjust to life with the condition and, until recently, suffered in silence with an eating disorder as a result.

Meanwhile, Summer has been incredibly stressed about her A-Level exams as her results will determine her whether she gets her dream place at Oxford University. After becoming ill during her previous exam after not taking her insulin properly, Summer felt the pressure of getting her final exam right.

Ever the good friend, Aadi Alahan gave Summer some of his colour-coded revision cards to try and help his former love interest before the exam. However, during Wednesday's trip to the cobbles, viewers saw she had panicked and decided to smuggle in the homemade revision cards Aadi had given to her.

An invigilator ended up spotting Summer was reaching into her case, but when confronted, she lied and claimed she needed to test her blood sugar levels. But on her way to do so, she ended up dropping the revision cards onto the floor in the exam hall. And in a further twist, when the invigilator found the cards, she accused Aadi of cheating as she spots his handwriting on the cards.

@priya_kaur_uk complained: "This Summer storyline is actually going to drag all Summer #Corrie." @JamieTVandNews said: "Don't give a t**s about Summer's exams. Can this storyline please end! #Corrie."

Theresa Horne wrote on Facebook: "The character Summer has gone through a lot but someone, let her smile and have fun! This cheating lark is unbelievable as the teachers would know their students and what they are capable of. Please let simmer clean and then disappear for a while! It's all very tedious!"

And they're pleading for Aadi or Summer to come clean. @moore95_pamela tweeted: "Aadi please do not accept the blame for Summer...she wouldn't do the same for you #Corrie." @teenamassam said: "Seriously, Summer better own up it was her trying to cheat, poor Aadi…#corrie."

@AntMelia94 joked: "I will get JUSTICE for Aadi, I’ll hack UCAS and fail the evil Summer myself if I have to! #Corrie." Yvonne Petherbridge wrote on Facebook: "Summer had better admit to what really happened."

But Corrie fans were also quick to point out a blunder on social media and they found it impossible that nobody would have noticed it was Summer who had dropped the cards in the silent examination hall.

@Samanth22356123 said: "Like you wouldn’t notice dropping all that paper in a silent room!!! #Corrie." @Sasha_Rose_ commented: "Now it's been 14 years since I've taken an exam, however....Its so quiet in the room you can hear a gnat fart so surely they'd have heard the cards drop on the floor? #Corrie."

EmperorMendoza shared: "It’s not possible for all of those to fall like that, without being noticed at the time one or two - yes six or seven - not a chance #corrie #coronationstreet." @joy9kat added: "So nobody noticed all those cards falling out. Oh dear me. Unbelievable #Corrie."
