Coronation Street fans couldn't believe their eyes as a drunken Jenny Connor got amorous with Stephen Reid before being stopped in her tracks by friend and barmaid Gemma Winter. The Rovers Return landlady was moping around the bar following her split from toyboy Leo.
Jenny called off her relationship with the newcomer, played by Joe Frost, in scenes aired on the ITV soap earlier this week after she realised his discontent at staying in Weatherfield after turning down his dream job in Canada to be with her.
During Friday's trip to the cobbles (September 2), a heartbroken Jenny, decided to hit the bottle to drown her sorrows alongside Stephen after he approached the bar and made a cheeky move, pretending to think she was stepdaughter Daisy Midgeley. But unbeknown to Jenny, the cash-strapped businessman approached her after discovering she was the sole owner of the Rovers.

After quite a bit of flirting over the bar, Jenny invited Stephen to the backroom where they had a passionate snog as they tucked into her late husband Johnny's whisky. And Corrie fans were evidently horrified. @crouchlvr said: "Oh god I feel sick." @lezleyb65 admitted: "Ohhh I didn’t like that one bit…"
@_Ce_Ce__ tweeted: "NGL Stephen slathering all over Jenny is making me feel a bit [sick emoji] #Corrie." @Clawmaw commented: "No Jenny, no!!!!!! I feel sick after seeing her kissing slimy Stephen! Sickening behaviour! #Corrie." @jenksles14 added: "I wish I was watching this on record then I could have fast forwarded that awful scene with Jenny and slimey Stephen #Corrie."
But just as things looked set to go a step further, they were interrupted by Gemma who was trying to find her boss as Leo was waiting at the bar and wanted to ask her something.
Gemma was left shocked and quickly left the room, only to come face-to-face with Leo who decided to look for Jenny himself. Gemma lied and was able to usher Leo back out to have a drink with Sean Tully. Jenny was then able to sneak out the back room and had a surprise of her own when her on-off partner proposed - to which she said a massive yes.
The couple then headed off the celebrate their engagement in the bistro and in typical Weatherfield style, Stephen arrived for a drink with niece Sarah Platt. As Rita encouraged Leo to give a speech, Stephen raised his glass to toast them, much to Jenny's horror. But later, Stephen learned of Jenny and Leo's plans to move to Canada and Sarah offered up her uncle's help and the men exchanged numbers.
And with viewers convinced of Stephen's desperation to get his hands on some cash after his suspicious behaviour since arriving back in Weatherfield, they think they have figured out his next move. @Ian38711310 tweeted: "What's the betting that Stephen will blackmail Jenny now about them getting together #corrie."
@MrsMJR6914 echoed: "Is stephen gonna blackmail Jenny now to keep quiet about their kiss or at least try? @itvcorrie #Corrie." @Cinders12345678 shared: "I can just see it coming Stephen is going to try blackmail Jenny… even tho Jenny should just tell Leo!!!! #corrie." @leahallen77 wrote: "Stephen is 100% gonna blackmail Jenny can [see] it coming #Corrie." @amz07 added: "He’s gonna blackmail her now I reckon, the snake #corrie."
