Coronation Street fans are out for justice after Peter Barlow discovered the surgeon who helped save his life used his operation as a competition with his doctor mates. During Monday night's edition of the ITV soap, the recovering alcoholic was ecstatic after being given a clean bill of health a year after his liver transplant last year.
As an act of goodwill, Peter and wife Carla headed to the hospital to give Mr Thorne a bottle of whisky for performing his life-saving surgery. But as he arrived at Weatherfield General, Aggie Bailey had some shocking news to share. Last week, the nurse overheard Mr Thorne gloating to a colleague how he rushed Peter's operation in order to win a bet.
She later discovered that all Mr Thorne's operations have been cancelled until further notice and when Peter arrived at the hospital, she broke the news to him and Carla about what she had discovered. Understandably, Peter was furious and demanded an explanation and an apology.

But with Aggie unable to help, she offered to get a manager to explain what was happening. And it only got worse for Peter as he was told that Mr Thorne had taken a selfie with his old liver in the operating theatre which he then shared with a colleague in a WhatsApp chat with the vile message 'anyone for foie gras?'
Corrie fans couldn't believe what they were hearing and Peter was beside himself with rage. Later, an angry Peter declared that he was going to put a stop to his abuse of power and later found Mr Thorne in a restaurant. He demanded an apology but the surgeon wound him up with his attitude.
This led to Peter losing his temper and he ended up punching Mr Thorne just as the police came through the doors leading to him being arrested and later charged at the station with assault.
And while viewers were sharing in Peter's anger over what happened to him with many sharing their hope for 'justice for Peter', it was Aggie who also got fans of the ITV soap enraged.
Marie Smawfield said on Facebook: "Ridiculous, Aggie would be disciplined for breach of confidentiality, she has broken the rules so after she'd be sacked, and the hospital would not share that information so easily, tut tut Corrie."
Julie Jones argued: "I hate Aggie she is as bad as him, whatever happened to confidentiality," to which Helen Battye replied: "Aggie needs sacking!"
