Coronation Street fans have been left confused by the arrival of Faye Windass' daughter as they realised that she is the 'double' of another existing character. It was revealed last week that Miley would be making a return to her life after her former flame Jackson Hodge got in touch and told her they were back in the UK.
Faye and Jackson conceived their child after the two teens slept together at a party with Miley then born in 2015. But due to their young age, Faye felt she wasn't capable of looking after a child and Jackson took sole custody of Miley and went to live in Canada with his parents.
At the end of last month Jackson and Miley 'returned' to the ITV soap - albeit in only spoken form. However, after being ignored by Faye, in Corrie scenes aired last week, Jackson called at No.4 and introduced himself to Sally and Tim as Miley’s dad, explaining that he and Miley have moved to the UK and he’s been trying to get in touch with Faye.
Tim is beside himself and tells Jackson that Faye would be more than thrilled to reunite with her daughter. However, Sally ended up breaking the news to Tim that Faye’s been ignoring his messages because she doesn’t want to see her daughter leaving Tim shocked.
Then, during scenes aired on Monday night (March 13), Tim defied his daughter's wishes and invited Jackson and Miley to his home as As an unsuspecting Faye headed out for the day with boyfriend Craig Tinker to celebrate her 21st birthday
And all was going well until Miley and Eliza Woodrow recognised each other in the street and stopped to chat as Craig and Faye pulled up in a cab. When Eliza's grandfather Stu Carpenter knocked on the door later with a bracelet that Miley had left behind, Faye was furious to realise her dad had been getting to know the daughter she gave up as a baby behind her back.
As the scenes unfolded, Corrie fans flocked to Twitter claiming that the 'mathematics isn’t adding up', saying that Jackson and Miley look older than they are meant to be in the soap. However, others were rushing to social media as they felt like they were seeing the same character twice as Miley, now played by Frankie-Jae Simmonds, reminded them of fellow Corrie youngster Hope Stape, played by Isabella Flanagan.
@Lynne1985 asked: "Why does Miley look like the image of Hope?" @ASuperGav tweeted: "Miley? I thought that was Hope," as @teenamassam replied: "I did too…" @fansvfavourites posted: "Hope, miley, lily and eliza are the same child in different fonts i fear #Corrie."
