ITV Coronation Street fans concerned for Max Turner as they predict tragic storyline will lead to exit

Coronation Street fans have been left worried for Max Turner as they predict a tragic twist in his current storyline. The teen, played by Paddy Bever, was put behind bars after pleading guilty to encouraging terrorism.

In horror scenes aired last month, fans of the ITV soap watched as teenager Blake appeared intent on causing damage as he live-streamed his visit to Maria Connor's refugee drop-in which was being held in Alya's restaurant which she runs with her gran, Yasmeen.

It comes after both Maria and Alya become the target of an extremist group led by eco-warrior Griff Reynolds and his racist gang who groomed troubled Max. And upon seeing the videos Max helped create for the terrifying gang, Blake decided to pull his own horrifying stunt.

Max tried to stop him after seeing his live video but it was too late and Blake launched towards Maria before Alya saved her life. Then during Monday night's Corrie, David Platt got drunk after being told Max didn't want to see him after being given his sentence.

Viewers then later saw Max being beaten by his fellow inmates. He was then moved and soon appeared in one of Daniel Osbourne's classes. Upon seeing a broken Max, the teacher reached out to Alya and asked if she'd consider meeting with Max.

Still struggling with the mental impact of what happened to her, Alya refused but after speaking to former flame Ryan Connor, she decided to pay a visit to Max at the STC. Max tried to explain everything to Alya, telling her how his life was a mess.

But Alya wasn't sympathetic and let him know just how the attack made her feel and how he was no different to Griff. After her visit, Max was seen making a phonecall to surprised David, asking if he'd go see him with both stepmum Shona and younger sister, Lily.

And it left Corrie fans fearing the worst for Max. @MegWarr09285908 tweeted: "I've a horrible feeling Max will try to commit suicide. #corrie." @philm2244 asked: "Are we heading for a suicide attempt from Max? #Corrie." @LexieAshmore added: "Is Max planning to kill himself because of everything Alya said? Sounds like he wants to gather them all to say his goodbyes #coronationstreet #corrie."

Corrie won huge praise back in 2018 for a storyline in which Aidan Connor took his own life. Actor Shayne Ward played the role of Aidan and spoke recently about the impact the storyline continues to have. Speaking to Christine Lampard on ITV's Lorraine, the singer and actor said he was still "very proud" and that he is still contacted by those affected by the issue today as he urged men to "never be afraid" to speak out about their mental health.
