Coronation Street fans were left with one main question as Hope Stape decided to own the fact a book about her serial killer dad had been released. Parents Fiz Stape and Tyrone Dobbs were tearing their hair out in scenes on the ITV soap earlier this month after discovering a tell-all book was being realised about the late John Stape and that it featured private details about Hope.
It later transpired that the person who the youngster had been speaking to via a game, only known as Mad Dog, was involved in the book and its subsequent articles. After enlisting the help of Adam Barlow, Fiz appeared to have made huge strides by sitting down with the publisher and playing at her maternal heartstrings to get the parts about Hope withdrawn from the book.
As Fiz and Adam prepared to celebrate in the Bistro, Tyrone head found out the author of the book was doing a Q&A at a hotel. He stormed out of work and headed to the venue and heard the writer discussing his theory that Fiz was complicit in John's hideous crimes.

And so Tyrone wasted no time in getting up on stage and slapping the man who had put pen to paper. While Adam headed to the police station, Fiz convinced the author not to press chargers. But a video of Tyrone's outburst went viral and the publishers told Fiz that not only were they going to go ahead and publish the book, but they were also bringing the release date forward leaving her devastated.
Later, Adam told Fiz and Tyrone that he’s spoken with a libel barrister who is happy to take on the case, but there’s no guarantee they’ll win and their costs alone will be £100k and if they lose the case, that price would double. Fiz and Tyrone ended up having to break the news to Hope that the book would be published as they couldn’t afford to stop it.
But Hope railed at Fiz and Tyrone for failing to protect her. But in a bid to do what they can to help their 11-year-old daughter, Tyrone bought up all the stock of the book from the local bookshop, including the cutout of John in a bid to stop people from reading the book.
Hope, however, decided to make the most of the stash of books and took them into school to sell. During Wednesday night's hour-long trip to the cobbles, Hope was seen at school and holding the book in front of her friends as she said: "They call him an evil genius, you don't get away with offing as many people as my dad did, without having brains."
Later, the schoolgirl was seen conducting her own signing of the book with one classmate getting a copy for his gran. "She loves this kind of stuff," she said. "She has got a whole shelf devoted to serial killers at her bungalow." Hope replied: "Bet she hasn't got one signed by a family member though! Right, that'll be a fiver."
Her classmate was shocked at the price, but Hope argued: "These are going for £16 in the shops, with my autograph you will get £50 online easy!" Heading home, Hope hid the money from Fiz and Tyrone but they were already suspicious after divoering the books had disappeared from their outhouse.
Meanwhile, Corrie fans were flocking to social media to comment with almost the same question. @Jamal06122771 said: "Where were the teachers in that flaming school? There was a queue of children outside waiting to buy a copy of the book, no teachers lurking about? Probably gassing about in the Staffroom #corrie."
