ITV Coronation Street Dylan actor praised by co-star as he gets special role away from soap

Coronation Street star Liam Mccheyne has been praised by his co-star after revealing he has landed a special role away from the ITV soap. The actor, who plays Dylan Wilson in the ITV soap, took to Instagram with the news.

Liam returned to the cobbles last year as Dylan, the son of Sean Tully and friend Violet, a brief appearance in 2020. Last summer, he headed up from London, where he lives with his mum, to spend some of the holidays with his dad and co on the cobbles.

But Dylan appeared to have enjoyed spending time with the other half of his family and making new friends through football and told his dad he didn't want to leave and soon made himself another resident of No.11.

And Antony Cotton, who plays Corrie barman and Underworld machinist Sean, appeared happy to have Liam back. Sharing a picture of them both back in May, the soap star wrote: "Finally got a pic with @liammccheyne on the Grimshaws set, Number 11 Coronation Street, my home from home for the last 18 or so years."

He added alongside the sweet snap: "I've known him and his brother @connormccheyne since they were babies. Liam is back playing Dylan. Welcome home, son."

But back to now and Liam posted a smiling picture of himself to his social media account to reveal that he had become Bury Hospice's latest ambassador. "Very privileged and proud to have the opportunity on becoming @bury_hospice latest ambassador," he typed.

"Super excited to get underway and do as much as I can to help with fundraising and promoting. Had a lovely chat last night with @lisaschofield1976 and learnt that 80% of the funds for the hospice are made off their raising, which was a great shock to me and another reason why I want to help so much."

Co-star Jude Riordan, who plays Sam Blakeman in the ITV soap, was quick to respond, writing: "YES LIAM!" He also shared the post to his own Instagram Story and penned: "Welcome to the ambassador club @liammccheyne."

He then sweetly added: "Bury Hospice is lucky to have you [on] board. Good luck all." Cait Fitton, who recently left the cobbles as Lauren, also showed her support, simply writing: "Amazin !!!!" While Kyran Bowes, who plays Jack Webster in Corrie, replied: "Well done Liam great news."
