ITV Coronation Street Charlotte Jordan's rarely seen boyfriend, popstar past and show exit

Charlotte Jordan has established herself as a key figure on Coronation Street since her arrival in 2020.

The 27-year-old soap star is renowned for her role as Daisy Midgeley on the Cobbles. It has been a busy period in Weatherfield for the character as she got engaged to Daniel Osbourne last month.

Daisy's storyline took a turn this week as she has been targeted by a stalker. The situation has become even more difficult for the character as her estranged mum has returned to the Cobbles.

Charlotte told the ECHO last month how Daisy will be rocked by her mum's arrival on the show. She said: "It's very fractured and distanced as she hadn't really had a relationship with her mum since she was young. It's been so many years and she's 26 now so it's not something where she is this ball of anger.

"She has accepted that this is the relationship and she's more of a nuisance because she pops up every now and then, doesn't really give her much, always tends to want something from her and then just clears off. It's more of a what do you want and why are you here."

Charlotte's life away from the Cobbles is fortunately less turbulent that her on screen character. She regularly updates fans on Instagram with her exciting life away from the screen.

She is in a happy relationship with her boyfriend and took to Instagram to share snaps from their luxury break last year. However, Charlotte admitted she struggles to get her boyfriend to agree to photos as she joked, alongside a heart eyes emoji: "Anyone else have to take pics of their better half on the sly."

Charlotte has previously revealed how her career nearly went in a completely different direction. Charlotte told The Metro how she was scouted to be a part of a pop band being created by Simon Fuller and Geri Halliwell.

She said: "It was a development deal, which means we spent a lot of time bonding, doing choreography and recording songs in the studio – sometimes cool songs, sometimes naff songs. You just try to find your sound.

"When they felt like we’d exhausted all options as a group, I was offered a solo deal. I did that for another two years and then, as I got older, I realised that acting was what I actually wanted to do and decided to go back to it. Just because you can sing, doesn’t necessarily mean you should be a singer."

Although Charlotte continues to be a major part of the show, the actress is not resting on her laurels as she admitted nobody's future is secure in the soap. She added to the Metro: "It’s a soap, so there’s no guarantee we’re even going to make it down the aisle. And the engagement is quite speedy. It’s only been a year and two minutes since they got together – so anything can happen."
