ITV Britain's Got Talent: Simon Cowell looks unrecognisable in old photo before Botox went 'too far'

A photo of Britain's Got Talent judge Simon Cowell has risen from the depths after 25 years, and he looks almost unrecognisable. The snap highlights just how much his face has changed following years of Botox - which the man himself admits 'went too far'.

The photo, of a relatively handsome 35-year-old Simon, was taken at the Brit Awards in 1994 at Alexandra Palace, North London, where he looks like a different person, reports MyLondon.

Simon had said his use of Botox "is no more unusual than toothpaste" but he did say he had gone too far over the years. The music mogul, 62, is currently back on screen for the latest series of the ITV show.

He told The Sun: "There was a stage where I might have gone a bit too far. I saw a picture of me from ‘before’ the other day, and didn’t recognise it as me first of all. Eric (his son) was in hysterics. Enough was enough. There is no filler in my face at all now. Zero."

In another interview for Glamour, he said: “Hopefully I look better now – I probably did have a little too much Botox a couple of years ago, because everyone on TV has it. Now I have facials, but nothing too extravagant at the moment. I have a girl who comes here and does a great face massage - it's very relaxing."

Fans on Twitter were left shocked at the sight of the photo. One said: "WTF has #SimonCowell done to his face."

Another added: "I was thinking the same…what has @SimonCowell surgeon done to his face? It looks like he’s been in a fight with @Tyson_Fury #SimonCowell." A third said: "Oh Simon… what’s going on? Doesn’t even look like him anymore!"

Simon kickstarted the careers of many pop stars with Britain's Got Talent and X-Factor , including Will Young, Leona Lewis, One Direction, Alexandra Burke, and Little Mix.

Simon was also success in the USA with similar shows America's Got Talent and American Idol , which sparked interest in other non-English speaking countries that launched their own version of the shows.
