ITV Alison Hammond issues 'surprise' verdict on This Morning's NTA win on Loose Women

Alison Hammond has issued her verdict on This Morning's win at the National Television Awards (NTAs).

The popular presenter regularly fronts ITV's flagship daytime programme alongside Dermot O'Leary. The two have stepped in this week to fill in for Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield as the regular hosts enjoy a week off.

Alison was interviewed on Wednesday's edition of Loose Women directly after she hosted This Morning. Alison reacted to last week's NTAs ceremony, which took place at the Ovo Arena, Wembley.

Loose Women and This Morning faced off against eachother in the Daytime category. This Morning picked up the prize, but Alison surprisingly admitted she was backing the rival TV show.

She said: " Loose Women is vibes. I can't believe you didn't win an NTA. I wanted you to win."

Alison was up for the best presenter award at the glitzy ceremony. Ant and Dec won the award for the 21st year in a row, but the Loose Women panel claimed they thought Alison was announced as the winner.

Katie Piper said: "We heard your name too. It sounded like they said Alison." Alison admitted she was also confused by the announcement.

She added: "I love Ant and Dec, but, honestly, in my ears I heard Alison Hammond. I didn't believe it because even I voted for Ant and Dec."
