Itison launches recruitment drive for 250 staff

Glasgow-based events company itison has launched a recruitment drive for more than 250 staff to help run GlasGLOW and Elfingrove, which expect up to 350,000 visitors.

A variety of roles are required to deliver the events running between October and December, with training days provided from 20 to 23 October.

Many positions are across the steward team - some of whom will be in costume - as well as the bar and catering team.

All successful applicants will be offered £11 an hour and flexible shift patterns.

GlasGLOW's theme this year is The Land That Time Forgot (itison)

The GlasGLOW is first up for itison, returning to the Botanic Gardens from 26 October to 6 November, with a new dinosaur theme this year.

The hour-long outdoor route will feature animatronic dinosaurs, erupting volcanos and other light and sound experiences - along with a street food village, bar and the return of Marshmallowland.

Creator of GlasGLOW and itison chief executive Oli Norman said: “I wrote this year’s story whilst on a family trip to the Isle of Skye during the pandemic.

“Discovering the dinosaur fossils on the North of the island with my kids was amazing, so this year’s show imagines what would happen if those dinosaurs roamed Glasgow today.

“Our goal each year is to light up to the dark months, do positive work in the community and deliver a world class show – we can’t wait to show you what we have planned this year.”
