A group of approximately 50 Italian fans turned their backs during Israel's national anthem at a Nations League match in Hungary. The match was held at Bozsik Arena in Budapest. The Italian fans also displayed a flag with the word "Liberta" (Freedom) and placed black slashes on other banners.
Israel have relocated their home games to Hungary due to the ongoing conflict with Hamas. The Italian fans involved in the protest also chanted against Italian anti-fascist activist Ilaria Salis during the first half of the game, as reported by the Italian newspaper, Corriere della Sera.
