A major 2032 Olympic transport project has been scrapped, prompting claims it will be a "disaster" for Brisbane Games commuters.

Plans to extend the multibillion-dollar Gold Coast light rail have been abandoned by Queensland's Liberal National government citing cost blowouts and community feedback.
