Manchester City fans could not contain their excitement after their U21s came back from 1-0 down to beat Manchester United 6-1.
Carlos Borges stole the headlines in sensational style, as the 18-year-old scored four goals in the derby to inspire his team to an emphatic win. The academy side have now followed in the footsteps of their senior team, after replicating City's 6-1 win at Old Trafford more than a decade ago.
Sergio Aguero, Mario Balotelli, David Silva and Edin Dzeko were the goalscorers for City that day, and as history repeats itself, the Blues may well have a new name to keep an eye out for. After being called up to train with Pep Guardiola's first team last week, Borges certainly showed exactly why he is valued so highly with his superb performance against their rivals.

The Portuguese winger rubbed salt in the wounds of United fans by copying Cristiano Ronaldo's famous celebration after scoring his fourth goal. The teenager followed Alejandro Garnacho in copying the celebration, calmly placing his hands on his chest and closing his eyes - much to the annoyance of the red half of Manchester no doubt.
Dire Mebude and Will Dickson also found the back of the net for the Blues, as they returned to the top of the Premier League 2 table. As the celebrations ran wild at Leigh Sports Village, the City youngsters were not the only ones savouring the moment.
City fans took to social media to poke fun at their bitter rivals, as they heaped praise on their U21s for a historic win.
