You can play around with fate if you want, but I won’t. I’m betting the over on Klay Thompson’s points and 3-pointers for Game 6 of the NBA Finals because it’s his destiny to produce in this very game.
For whatever reason, Game 6’s have brought out the very best in Thompson over the years. And if you thought the luster might’ve worn off after his absence the last two years, he reminded everyone why they call him Game 6 Klay in the conference semis against the Grizzlies. He scored 30 points on 50% shooting, including 8-of-14 from three. It remains one of his best games this postseason.
In fact, Thompson has one 30-point game in each round of these playoffs…except the NBA Finals. So, with Game 6 against the Boston Celtics looming, he’s due. But in case you haven’t heard of Game 6 Klay, or you forgot how he got the name? Allow me to re-introduce you to the man, the myth, the Game 6 legend.
