Greater Manchester has been gripped by a long cold spell in recent weeks, forcing many to turn their heating on despite the cost of living crisis. So this week's milder weather forecast will be a great relief to many.
While it is hardly tropical, temperatures across Greater Manchester should reach double digits this week. However, the rain is also set to return, according to The Met Office.
The middle of the week is when showers are expected to hit the region. Tuesday and Wednesday morning are set to be wet with showers also expected to fall on Wednesday afternoon.

This rain could continue into Thursday morning in some areas before drying up for the weekend. The week overall is set to be nearly entirely overcast with only short sunny intervals expected early on in the week.
Temperatures will hover around 8oC from Monday to Wednesday before warming up slightly the rest of the week. Temperatures could reach highs of 11oC in some area of Greater Manchester on Friday heading into the weekend, where temperatures will remain in double figures.
For the region the Met Office gives an outlook of tomorrow's (Monday) weather as: "Any early showers dying out to leave a bright day on Monday with winds easing. Cloud increasing from the west later, heralding the arrival of further wind and rain overnight. Maximum temperature 9 °C."
For later in the week they say: "Sunshine and blustery showers on Tuesday. Some very strong winds possible overnight, slowly giving way to brighter, less windy weather during Wednesday. Thursday looks cloudy and breezy, with patchy rain."
Looking ahead to the first days of February, the Met Office predicts: "On Thursday, cloud and outbreaks of rain will slowly move across the north of the UK, with heavier bursts for the northwest at first, while the south is more likely to stay dry with sunny intervals. Strong winds will mainly confine to the north early in the day.
"Towards the weekend and into next week, uncertainty is high regarding a regional split of conditions. The most likely scenario brings showers, longer spells of rain and strong winds to the north, with the wettest conditions in the northwest.
"The south is more likely to remain largely dry with lighter winds. Temperatures are expected to remain near to or slightly above average for most, although clearer conditions bring a risk of overnight fog and frost for the south."
