When it comes to Leeds, people think of the nightlife, the best places to have a drink and to eat. It’s fair to say, many people don’t even think about the crime statistics.
Earlier this week, it was revealed that the city centre is among the most violent in England and in February 2022 alone, 14 streets had the highest number of crime reported.
The statistics, illustrated by a map published by Police.UK, the national website for policing in England, Wales and Northern Ireland, shows that 1,177 crimes were reported in Leeds. Of these, 392 were violence or sexual offences, 162 shoplifting and 127 public order offences.
