"It's getting ridiculous now": Shop workers battling against children as young as nine 'running riot' in Stockport despite stark warning from police

Shop workers have described groups of youths causing havoc in Stockport town centre, riding bikes into shops and throwing items around. This came after police issued a stark warning to parents following a surge in anti-social behaviour involving kids as young as nine around Merseyway Shopping Centre.

The Manchester Evening News spoke to shop workers and shoppers outside Merseyway Shopping Centre, Stockport, today to see what impact this has had. A consensus became clear that there has been a surge in youths causing trouble in the town centre.

This includes groups of up to 25 boys and girls fighting amongst each other and invading shops to intimidate staff and make a mess. Saturday March 26 was an especially bad day, according to the shop workers, with kids riding on bikes around shops and throwing items at each other and on the floor.
