Tragedy struck in Salford after the body of a woman was found at the Quays. A woman, aged in her 20s, was pulled out of the water on Tuesday morning (December 20), according to eyewitnesses.
Police had initially been called to reports for the concern for the welfare of a woman at the Quays, before it was later confirmed that she had died. There are not thought to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding the incident.
Officers remained stationed at the scene, beside the Central Bay area of the Quays for a number of hours after the discovery on Tuesday. Various walkways beside the water were also cordoned off as enquiries were made.

One eyewitness, who was beside the Holiday Inn on Tuesday morning said he saw the emergency services response at around 8.30am before seeing the woman pulled from the water.
He told the MEN : "I saw all the police down here this morning, the fire brigade were here too. I saw the woman in the water beside Watersports centre.
"Some people were stood talking to officers at the scene. I saw her get pulled out of the water and there were forensics surrounding her body.
"Anyone in the hotel rooms there could've seen what was going on. They had to close the blinds because at the restaurant because it is right across from it.
"Just the other day all the water here was completely frozen over because of the temperatures. It must have been so cold. It's awful - and right before Christmas too."
In July, a search resulted in the discovery of the body of a teenager Kalen Waugh in Salford Quays who had been swimming there, prompting a warning of water dangers from the Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service.
A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said: "At around 8:20am this morning (Tuesday 20 December 2022), officers were called to a concern for welfare of a woman in Salford Quays. Emergency services attended the scene and sadly, a body of a woman in her 20s was found. There are believed to be no suspicious circumstances."
