The cast of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia has called out England over what to call football.
Rob McElhenney, Charlie Day, and Glenn Howerton mentioned the debate on their It's Always Sunny podcast. There is huge disagreement between sports fans from the USA and England over what to call football, which Americans call soccer.
Rob, one of the owners of Wrexham FC with Ryan Reynolds, claims that he now has to call the sport football, which in America would mean American Football. Their conversation led to the three calling out England over naming the sport.

After mentioning football, Rob said: "If I'm watching what Americans call soccer, there are no commercial breaks." and Charlie said: "Is that what you were talking about when you said football?"
Rob said: "Well, no, I was actually talking about American football there, because I'm not..." but is cut off by Charlie who said: "Thank God. I got worried there for a sec." but Rob said: "Well I have to do it to a certain extent."
Glenn said: "For the record, it used to be called soccer in England." and Rob said: "I know, I know, but they get angry Glenn."
Glenn added: "I don't know why they get so angry, they're the one who invented the damn sport and called it soccer."
People in the comments found the exchange hilarious, with some explaining the origins of the sport. One person said: "It was called soccer by posh people cause its short for association football." and another said: "It was actually called soccer before football, fact."
Others claimed football makes more sense as the name, because you kick the ball with your foot. One person said: "in American football what is the percentage of a players foot actually touching the ball?" and another said: "it's a ball and you kick it with your foot, what shall we call it? I know soccer".
Others joked that Glenn began to act like his character Dennis during the discussion. One person said: "Glenn pulled out his Dennis" and another said: "Dennis rage" with laughing emojis.
