The Chicago Bears are gearing up for their Week 4 matchup against the New York Giants, where the offensive line will be key in protecting quarterback Justin Fields and opening up the run game.
There’s been a rotation at right guard through the first three games with Teven Jenkins and Lucas Patrick switching off during the game. Patrick is recovering from a broken thumb, and he hasn’t been moved back to center yet.
While Jenkins started the first two games — before rotating with Patrick — Patrick got the start last week, where he started 65% of the snaps. But Patrick had a rough game while Jenkins looked solid.
It looks like Patrick will be starting again at right guard against the Giants, according to Brad Biggs‘ observations during pre-game warmups.
Considering Jenkins has looked like the better option at right guard than Patrick, Bears fans aren’t happy about the move.
This coaching staff is a joke this is infuriating https://t.co/a5oqmylPGs

This coaching staff is annoying with this nonsense.
Teven Jenkins looked better again last week despite not starting. #Bears https://t.co/HNUvD04fAM

Tell flus he’s an idiot for this, please. Analytics and the eye test say Jenkins a 1,000 times better at that position. https://t.co/1fDhqpWJhu

With how bad Patrick has looked at guard, I really don't understand this. https://t.co/hVuwhSdMOe

Incompetence. Plain and simple. https://t.co/n4qEKvIriR

This gets dumber by the week.
Teven has more than proven himself at the right guard position. Seems more and more clear they just don't like him. https://t.co/4RqLVCpFzD

Yeah Tev needs to request a trade. https://t.co/bta2oqPrGB

Been saying to guys like @SwiftyNetwork and even @robertkschmitz, #FreeTeven
For Teven's sake, send him to somewhere he's valued and respected.
If his contract ended today, he'd likely spit in the faces of #Bears management before resigning with a franchise who's mismanaged him https://t.co/qIYW1hdos5

Eberflus and Getsy are being really dense with this.
If it's even close, you start Teven Jenkins period.
Based on what we've seen so far this year, Jenkins is clearly better at RG than Patrick. https://t.co/WeB0K2RQvU— TheSchlegdaddy (@TheJeffSchlegel) October 2, 2022
What are we doing? C’mon be better Eberflus and Getsy.
Jones-Whitehair-Patrick-Jenkins-Borom. That’s the ideal lineup. #Bears https://t.co/3leXdkPWFA

Why are the #Bears continuing this dumb charade? Jenkins is clearly the better player. Just play him! https://t.co/kDc5qJiqiA

Lucas Patrick = 52.1 https://t.co/GmrnKauKHj— Nick Whalen (@_NickWhalen) October 2, 2022
