It has been a slow pour but Guinness's £73m Covent Garden venue is finally ready to be served

As the makers of Guinness are fond of saying: “Good things come to those who wait.” But even by the standards of the fabled slow pouring Black Stuff, four years is a fair old time to hang around for a pint.

Yet that is how long it has been since then Chancellor Rishi Sunak unveiled the £73 million investment in a new Guinness Open Gate showpiece visitor experience in Covent Garden combining micro-brewery, shops, restaurants, bar and event spaces in January 2022.
