IT firm Wavenet has continued its acquisition drive by buying out Fidus Information Security.
The Solihull company, which specialises in cloud telecoms, IT and technology-managed services, has acquired the Cambridge-based cyber security business.
This latest acquisition comes on the back of a deal last year to buy Stourport-on-Severn outfit OGL which followed a string of acquisitions in 2021.
Wavenet's chief executive Bill Dawson said: "Fidus is renowned in the industry for their penetration testing services. They hold numerous cyber security accreditations and, with this acquisition, they bring an abundance of knowledge and experience to the Wavenet Group.
"They have a talented team who have a passion for operating at the highest standards, going beyond the normal industry best-practice principles and they share our value of putting customer needs at the heart of everything we do. I look forward to our continued growth and success as we integrate Fidus into the Wavenet Group."
Kurtis Baron, founder and managing director of Fidus Information Security, added: "The acquisition represents an exciting time for us. Wavenet's passion and dedication to invest in cyber security will enable us to extend our reach into new markets.
"Together, we will continue to grow our existing cyber security offerings and guide organisations in every aspect of their IT security systems.
"I am immensely enthusiastic about this acquisition and what the future will offer to our customers and our staff."
Terms of the deal were not disclosed. Financial advisers on the deal were Ashcroft and Dow Schofield Watts with legal advice by Nimbus Legal.
