Issey Miyake's Paris Fashion Week Show: Ethereal And Innovative

models show at Milan Fashion Milan Fashion

Issey Miyake's latest collection at Paris Fashion Week has been described as one of the strongest in seasons, showcasing diaphanous origami-like sculptures that exude a sense of subtle elegance. The menswear display titled 'Up, Up, and Away' featured garments that appeared to float like parachutes or kites, embodying a couture-like poetry.

The Homme Plissé show, held in Mobilier National's courtyard, drew inspiration from windy elements, resulting in wearable art that showcased designer Satoshi Kondo's mastery of fabric techniques. Kondo's innovative approach was evident in pieces like a vivid blue coat with angular sleeves and soft pleats, transforming the garment into a sculptural masterpiece that seemed to interact with the air.

The collection featured voluminous silhouettes that mimicked kites in the sky, with garments designed to billow and transform as models moved. A standout piece, a pale blue hooded look, created a dramatic effect as its back panels filled with air while the model walked.

One ensemble, consisting of a beige T-shirt and waistcoat paired with a chicly pleated tie, exuded red carpet sophistication. Kondo's ability to fuse complexity with simplicity was evident throughout the collection, earning rousing applause from the audience.

Overall, the show was a poetic masterclass in fashion design, showcasing the designer's unique vision and artistry. As the collection concluded, the Paris sun emerged from behind the clouds, adding a touch of magic to the already enchanting display.
