Israelis celebrate Purim in bomb shelter amid missile alerts

Hundreds of people in costume gathered on level minus four of Tel Aviv’s Dizengoff Center, using the underground parking area as a bomb shelter to mark the Jewish holiday of Purim.

With public gatherings restricted under military orders and missile alerts sounding in recent days, celebrations moved indoors.

Participants read from the Book of Esther before dancing and singing. Similar scenes were reported in other sheltered locations as festivities continued despite the ongoing conflict.
