On Saturday, Israeli strikes targeted three Lebanese towns, resulting in the deaths of at least 15 people, as reported by Lebanon's health ministry. In Maaysra, located in northern Lebanon, a strike claimed the lives of nine individuals, while another strike in Deir Billa resulted in two fatalities. Additionally, in Barja, situated 20 miles south of Beirut, four people lost their lives.
The Israeli military has stated that it was not aware of any strikes occurring in these locations on Saturday. The Lebanese state news agency NNA indicated that Israeli strikes also hit Nabatieh in southern Lebanon and the northern and central parts of the Bekaa region. The IDF has yet to respond to inquiries regarding the reported strikes in these areas.
Previous Israeli strikes in Nabatieh and Bekaa have been justified by the IDF as targeting Hezbollah locations. The Tel Chiha Hospital in the Bekaa governorate sustained damage, and a market in Nabatieh was also hit. Lebanon's health ministry confirmed that at least eight individuals were injured in Nabatieh.
The Lebanese Red Cross is currently engaged in search and rescue operations in Nabatieh; however, severe fires are impeding their progress in reaching the affected area. Reports from Lebanese state media also mention strikes in Rayaq in central Bekaa, where homes, commercial establishments, a university, and hospitals suffered damage. Rayaq is home to a Lebanese military base and military airport.
