The Israeli military has reported that senior operatives in Hezbollah’s operations staff and commanders from Hezbollah’s elite Radwan Force were killed in a strike in southern Beirut. The Israel Defense Forces spokesperson stated that 'about 10 commanders' were among those killed.
According to the military, the strike also targeted senior Hezbollah military official Ibrahim Aqil, who was allegedly involved in planning a raid on communities in Galilee in northern Israel. The military accused Aqil and the commanders of orchestrating a plot to kill civilians and Israeli soldiers, likening it to previous attacks by Hamas.
The Israeli military claimed that the individuals killed were hiding underground beneath a residential building in the Dahya neighborhood, using civilians as human shields. They were said to be coordinating terror operations against Israeli citizens.
In addition to the raid in Galilee, the military also accused Aqil of promoting or participating in other attacks against Israel. However, there has been no confirmation from Hezbollah regarding the reported deaths.
