Five Palestinian men were fatally shot by Israeli special forces in Nablus, in the occupied West Bank, as reported by the Palestinian Ministry of Health. The incident occurred when the Israeli forces opened fire on the men's car.
A video footage obtained from a source captured the moment when at least four men were seen standing behind a car, armed with assault rifles, shooting at another vehicle. Subsequent footage showed bystanders rushing to the scene after the gunmen had fled, with the interior of the car visibly stained with blood.
In a joint statement, the Israeli police and the Shin Bet security agency confirmed the killing of five individuals, including the leader of the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades, a network of Palestinian armed groups based in Balata. The statement indicated that the deceased were targeted for their involvement in terrorist activities, including planning and executing attacks against civilians and IDF forces.
The Palestinian Ministry of Health identified the slain men as Abdul Halim Muhammad Nasser, Salim Izz al-Din Mahmoud Abu Saada, Naeem Muhammad Raji Abdul Hadi, and Issam Muhammad Suleiman Salah.
Following the incident, Hamas issued a statement condemning the attack and urging residents of the occupied West Bank to engage in mass protests and confrontations with the Israeli occupation and settler groups.
It is important to note that there has been a notable increase in Israeli settler violence in the occupied West Bank since the commencement of Israel's conflict in Gaza. The West Bank, situated between Israel and Jordan, is home to approximately 3.3 million Palestinians living under Israeli military control, alongside hundreds of thousands of Jewish Israelis who have settled in the region over the past several decades.
