Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has reaffirmed his commitment to repatriate the northern residents of Israel back to their homes near the Lebanese border following their evacuation due to cross-border attacks. In a video statement, Netanyahu stated, 'I already said, we will bring back the residents of the north safely to their homes, and this is exactly what we will do.'
It is noteworthy that Israel's cabinet recently declared the return of these residents to their homes as an official objective of the ongoing conflict.
Since October 2023, tens of thousands of Israelis residing near the Lebanon border have been displaced from their homes due to attacks by Hezbollah. The Israel Defense Forces and Hezbollah have been engaged in frequent skirmishes ever since.
Israel's defense minister, Yoav Gallant, announced on Wednesday the commencement of a 'new era' in the country's military operations following the detonation of booby-trapped devices linked to Hezbollah members in Lebanon over two consecutive days.
Gallant implicitly acknowledged Israel's involvement in these operations and emphasized that the focal point of the conflict was shifting towards the north.
