Daniel Hagari

In a recent development, the Israeli military has issued a warning stating that it will not permit airplanes carrying weapons to land at the airport in Beirut, Lebanon. This announcement was made in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari, spokesperson for the Israel Defense Forces, confirmed that Air Force planes are currently patrolling the airspace above the Beirut airport. Reports from the ground in Beirut indicate that the presence of Israeli warplanes can be heard in the sky.

Hagari emphasized that Lebanon has historically demonstrated responsible behavior by not allowing the transfer of weapons through civilian airports, unlike Syria. He stressed that the civilian airport in Beirut is intended for civilian use only and must be maintained as such.

The Israeli military's proactive stance aims to prevent any hostile flights carrying weapons from landing at the Beirut airport. By monitoring the airspace and issuing this warning, they seek to uphold the airport's civilian nature and ensure the safety and security of the region.
