Israeli Military Vows To Continue Striking Hezbollah Targets

Smoke rises above Lebanon, following an Israeli strike, amid ongoing cross-border hostilities between Hezbollah and Israeli forces, as seen from Israel's border with Lebanon

The Israeli military has announced its intention to persist in targeting Hezbollah locations in Beirut, the Bekaa valley, and southern Lebanon. Herzi Halevi, the chief of the General Staff of the Israel Defense Forces, emphasized the military's determination to eliminate Hezbollah infrastructure near the Lebanese border and inflict damage on the militant group.

Halevi stressed the importance of dismantling the terrorist infrastructure that Hezbollah has established near the border to prevent potential attacks on Israeli civilians. He stated, “We are very determined to destroy this infrastructure and eliminate anyone present there. We will not allow Hezbollah to establish itself in these places.”

Concerns about Hezbollah concealing weapons facilities in Beirut.

Israel has raised concerns about Hezbollah allegedly concealing weapons facilities beneath residential buildings in Beirut. Despite international calls for restraint and criticism regarding civilian casualties in Lebanon and Gaza, Israeli leaders have shown defiance and resolve in their military actions.

Halevi highlighted the readiness and training of Israeli troops, noting their experience from recent operations in Gaza. He expressed confidence in the troops' capabilities, stating, “Israeli troops are more prepared and trained than ever, bearing the experience from the operations in Gaza, and their advantage in the combat arena is clear.”
