The Israeli military has conducted airstrikes on Hezbollah targets in southern Lebanon as cross-border attacks resumed on Friday. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) reported that dozens of targets in southern Lebanon were hit, including the launcher responsible for firing rockets towards Haifa, which was destroyed.
The IDF stated that the Israeli Air Force (IAF) carried out additional strikes on terrorist infrastructure sites and cells belonging to Hezbollah in various areas. Lebanon's National News Agency confirmed casualties resulting from an Israeli airstrike on the house of the mayor of Aytit in southern Lebanon.
Following the sounding of sirens in the Lower Galilee area, around 10 projectiles crossed from Lebanon into Israeli territory, with the majority being intercepted by Israeli defenses. In response, Hezbollah announced that it had launched Fad-1 rockets towards the Ilaniya settlement and targeted the city of Tiberias in northern Israel.
Amid escalating tensions, Israel has been conducting a series of airstrikes across Lebanon as part of its conflict with Hezbollah. The IDF has pledged to intensify its offensive operations against Hezbollah, with troops recently engaging in ground combat exercises simulating scenarios in Lebanon.
The ongoing conflict has led to thousands of Lebanese civilians being displaced from their homes due to the escalating violence.
