The family of slain hostage Carmel Gat has expressed their lack of comfort in the Israeli military's recent announcement regarding the killing of two of her captors. Despite thanking Israeli soldiers for their efforts and acknowledging the risks they took, the family emphasized that Carmel's priority would have been the safe return of the hostages rather than the fate of the militants.
According to a spokesperson from the Be’eri kibbutz, where Carmel was taken, the family believes that the answer to death is not more death but rather the preservation of life. They have called on the government to pursue a deal that would ensure the release of the remaining hostages and prevent any further escalation in the region.
