The Israeli military announced on Wednesday that it had successfully targeted and killed three Hezbollah commanders in southern Lebanon over the past two days. The commanders were identified as leading figures in the Jibchit, Jouaiya, and Qana areas.

Hezbollah, the Lebanese militant group, has not yet issued a statement regarding the deaths of its commanders.

The Israeli military has been carrying out a sustained campaign of heavy bombardment in southern Lebanon, specifically targeting Hezbollah infrastructure and operatives. The military reported that it has conducted precise and targeted raids to eliminate threats posed by the group.

As part of these operations, the Israeli military claimed to have killed a total of 70 Hezbollah members through a combination of ground operations and aerial strikes.

Recent weeks have seen a series of high-profile assassinations of Hezbollah commanders and officials in Lebanon. This includes the killing of the group's chief, Hassan Nasrallah, in a strike on his underground headquarters in Beirut last month.

The Israeli military's actions in southern Lebanon are part of its ongoing efforts to counter the threat posed by Hezbollah and to protect Israeli civilians from attacks originating in Lebanon.
