The Israeli military announced on Friday that it had successfully targeted and killed a commander in the Hezbollah Radwan Forces’ anti-tank missile unit in the Lebanese area of Meiss El Jabal. The targeted commander, Araeb el Shoga, was reportedly responsible for orchestrating numerous anti-tank missile attacks on the area of Ramot Naftali in northern Israel.
During the operation, Israeli forces also identified and neutralized a launcher that was poised to fire towards Israeli territory and soldiers. Additionally, the military struck Hezbollah weapons storage facilities in the region.
Simultaneously, Israeli forces intensified their aerial campaign in the Lebanese capital, resulting in a tragic toll. Late Thursday, at least 22 people were killed, and 117 others sustained injuries in the strikes that targeted the densely populated upper Basta neighborhood. This marked the deadliest Israeli attack in central Beirut since the 34-day-war in 2006, which claimed the lives of 1,100 people in Lebanon.
The escalating conflict between Israel and Hezbollah in Lebanon has raised concerns about the potential for further violence and civilian casualties. The situation remains fluid, with both sides engaged in military actions that have far-reaching consequences for the region.
