Israeli Military Detects Hits In Northern Israel From Southern Lebanon

The Israeli military detected a number of hits in northern Israel directed from southern Lebanon on Thursday, as tensions over Israel's war in Gaza spill into the wider region.

According to the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), a number of hits in the area of Shlomi were identified, resulting in a fire breaking out in the area. Fortunately, no injuries were reported in the incident.

Israeli fighter jets and aerial systems intercepted two unmanned aerial drones (UAVs) in Lebanese territory. Additionally, Israeli forces conducted strikes on Hezbollah “terrorist infrastructure and a military structure” in Ayta ash Shab, a village in southern Lebanon.

No injuries reported in the incident in Shlomi area.

Since October 7, Israeli and Hezbollah forces have been engaged in cross-border fire and tit-for-tat exchanges following an attack by Hamas on Israel. Hezbollah has taken a clear political stance in support of the Palestinian militants, condemning Israel's ongoing attacks on Gaza.

The conflict between Israel and Gaza has resulted in significant casualties, with the Ministry of Health in Gaza reporting the death of 34,904 Palestinians due to the relentless attacks by Israel.
