Israeli Military Detains And Orders Evacuees To Strip In Gaza

Palestinians flee Jabalia after the Israeli military called on residents to evacuate, in Gaza

A recent incident in Jabalya, northern Gaza, has sparked outrage as more than 200 people were detained by the Israeli military. The photo captured the harrowing scene of mostly men, some elderly and wounded, crouching amid the rubble, with at least one child among them.

Witnesses reported that the evacuees were forced to strip by the Israeli military as they attempted to flee their homes in Jabalya refugee camp. Subsequently, they were held outdoors for hours in the cold, adding to their distress.

The expressions on their tired faces reflect the anguish and uncertainty they were experiencing. The men in the front appear anxious, while those at the back strain to see what is happening around them.

The photo, taken on a Friday in Jabalya, sheds light on the plight of the residents who were trying to escape the area following the Israeli military's evacuation orders during its ongoing ground operation.

According to reports, the photo was initially shared on an Israeli Telegram channel, and although the photographer remains unidentified, several men in the image confirmed that Israeli soldiers were taking pictures of them during their detention.

One of the evacuees, Muhannad Khalaf, recounted his attempt to leave the camp with his wife and infant son through a designated safe corridor, only to be halted by the Israeli military.
